Historic marker is at the site of Fort Craven, destroyed in British panic on August 31, 1756 before its completion.
Also called Fort Pentagon, French and Indian War historic site, on the Oneida Carry and Portage linking Lake Ontario to the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers.
