Ha-De-Ron-Dah Wilderness Area
Featuring low rolling hills with many beaver meadows and swamps, this Adirondack Park Wilderness Area is located in Herkimer and Lewis counties.
Totaling 26,600 acres, the Ha-De-Ron-Dah Wilderness is in the western Adirondack foothills, west of Old Forge and the Fulton Chain of Lakes. Noted for prized lakes and ponds, mixed forest, varied wildlife sightings, overnight lean-tos. Though all but hemmed-in by private land, the DEC maintains an entryway foot trail from Pine Creek to Pine Lake, East Pine Pond, and Big Otter Lake, and a state truck trail entrance near Thendara.
