Northern Forest Canoe Trail
Adirondack Trail, State Rt. 30 and County Rt. 3, near Tupper Lake in Franklin County
The Northern Forest Canoe Trail, or NFCT, links the waterways of New York, Vermont, Québec, New Hampshire and Maine.
These coordinates show us overlooking Long Lake at a location on Jim Bird Road, off Tarbell Hill Road, which in turn is located off Route 28N, east of Long Lake village. Paddlers can head southwest as far as Old Forge, the western terminus of the Northern Forest Canoe Trial, or northeasterly to Saranac Lake and potentially all the way to northern Maine.
