Warrensburg NYSDEC Fish Hatchery
Central Adirondack Trail, U.S. Highway 9, near Warrensburg in Warren County
Located off Hudson Street/Golf Course Road in Warrensburg, this fish hatchery is well worth a visit.
The fish hatchery has been in operation since the early 1900's and is open for self-guided tours. There is also a visitors center with information and history of thehatchery. Raised here are brook and rainbow trout, as well as Atlanticsalmon. You will love seeing all the fish, and there is a display pondof full grown fish that can be fed with pellets, purchased at a quarterfor a handful.
Other amenities include a picnic area with pavilions and grills, publicrestrooms, a small playground for children, sports facilities forbasketball, softball, volleyball and horseshoes, and canoe access tothe Hudson River. Reservations may be necessary to use one of the picnicpavilions.
The hatchery is located at 145 Fish Hatchery Rd, which is located off of Hudson Street Extension (or Golf Course Rd). Look for Echo Lake Rd or Fish Hatchery Rd. and take Fish Hatchery road. Open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
