Clintonville
Olympic Byway, State Rt. 9N, in Clinton County
Historic Clintonville, near the Ausable River and Lake Champlain.
The many friendly communities like this one along the Olympic Scenic Byway provide the opportunity for an enjoyable walk, refreshment, and to learn more about the area. This Scenic Byway reveals nature’s renaissance with a patchwork blend of picturesque communities, small-scale industry and natural beauty. The 170-mile route starts near the shore of Lake Champlain at Keeseville on the east end, and near the shore of Lake Ontario by Sackets Harbor and Watertown on the west. From those two great water bodies, the route travels up into the Adirondack Mountain region and through the oasis at its center, the Adirondack Park.
